Best Plum pie filling ever

Cat´s Rezept für Pflaumentörtchen:

Plums are hanging ripe on the trees now. Here is a great way to use them.

Best Plum pie filling ever

1 kg plums, washed, pitted and cut into quarters
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
140 gr. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
2 Tbsp. vegan butter
1/4 cup ground almonds
1/4 cup ground walnuts

Put the plums in a saucepan and cover with 1/4 cup of water and simmer 5 minutes. Mix the cornstarch with 1/4 cup of water until it is smooth and add to the plums. Then add the sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg and simmer until the mixture is thick, stirring occasionally.
Remove the plums from the burner and add the almonds, walnuts and butter and let cool.
Use as a pie filling, or make mini pies, as I did.
Makes about 14-16 mini pies.
Serve with vanilla sauce.
